The examiner asks you about yourself, your home, work or studies and other familiar topics.

  • What is something you have achieved recently that made you proud?
  • Do you usually celebrate your successes with other people?
  • Are you a competitive person by nature?
  • Did you ever win any awards or competitions when you were at school?
  • Do you think it is important to reward yourself after completing a difficult task?

Part 2: Long Turn

You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes.

Part 3: Two-way Discussion

You will be asked further questions connected to the topic in Part 2.

  • How is 'success' traditionally defined in your culture?
  • Do you think people place too much importance on financial wealth as a measure of success?
  • How does experiencing failure early in life help shape a person's future character?
  • Why do some highly successful people often feel unfulfilled despite their achievements?
  • Is an individual's success mostly the result of hard work, or does luck play a significant role?
