Part 1: General Questions

The examiner asks you about yourself, your home, work or studies and other familiar topics.

  • Do you come from a large or a small family?
  • Who are you closest to in your family?
  • What do you and your family usually do together on special occasions?
  • Do you think you look more like your mother or your father?
  • How do you usually keep in touch with family members who live far away?

Part 2: Long Turn

You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes.

Part 3: Two-way Discussion

You will be asked further questions connected to the topic in Part 2.

  • How have family structures changed in your country over the last fifty years?
  • Do you think it is better for extended families to live together in the same house?
  • How much influence do parents have on the career choices of their children?
  • What are the benefits of growing up in a family with many siblings?
  • In what ways can a strong family network help individuals during difficult times?
